Usage, clearly explained

A defined allowance.
No automatic top-ups.

Your paid plan includes AI processing. Here is what that means, how to think about a workload, and the billing details to check before subscribing.

What is included

  • Standard: 1,000 processing units per confirmed 30-day Shopify billing cycle.
  • Brand Voice: 2,000 processing units per confirmed 30-day Shopify billing cycle.

Unused units do not roll over. There is no fixed number of products, words or languages: longer content, more target languages and different translation models use different amounts.

The Free manual-review plan lets you review saved Shopify translations and save manual edits while Evenly is installed. It has no AI generation or automatic updates.

New subscriptions have no free trial and no permanent free AI tier. Charges are in US dollars and managed by Shopify. Check the plan, price and allowance on Shopify’s approval page before subscribing. Evenly runs inside Shopify Admin with no separate account.

Think about the work, then the allowance.

Estimate a representative workload from its actual measured usage, rather than treating one unit as one product. Different product descriptions and target languages can use different amounts.

Illustrative calculation

If a sample product used 2 units for one French translation:

100 products × 2 units = 200 units
400 products × 2 units = 800 units

In this calculation, 800 units would leave 200 of Standard’s 1,000 included units, or 1,200 of Brand Voice’s 2,000 included units.

Use the measured usage from a representative product in your own store to replace this example’s two-unit assumption. Description length, target language and model affect the result.

Initial translation and later changes are different workloads.

An initial translation may cover your selected catalogue. Later work depends on the content that changes, what still needs translating and the languages involved. Already-current content is skipped, and reusable translations in Evenly’s own cache do not require a new AI response. Do not assume your full catalogue will consume the same allowance every month.

What a processing unit means

A unit measures AI processing, not a product or a word. Evenly calculates each AI response’s input, output and any model-cache token usage using the selected model’s rates, then rounds that response up to a whole unit.

One unit represents USD0.01 of calculated AI processing. This is the unit calculation, not an extra charge to you.

A billed AI response can count even if the result fails validation or cannot be saved. Input and output amounts are combined before rounding each response. Requests that use different amounts of text, languages or models can therefore use different numbers of units.

Model rates used in the calculation

For each million tokens, Claude Haiku 4.5 uses 100 units for ordinary input and 500 for output. Claude Sonnet 4.6 uses 300 for ordinary input and 1,500 for output.

Model-cache writes use 1.25 times the input rate for a five-minute cache, or twice the input rate for a one-hour cache; model-cache reads use 0.1 times the input rate.

Brand Voice uses Sonnet; some target languages also use Sonnet on Standard. Input and output amounts are combined before rounding each response.

When processing pauses

New AI work pauses if the remaining allowance cannot cover the next request. Pending requests temporarily reserve allowance until their outcome is known. Service spending safeguards can also pause processing before your plan allowance is exhausted.

There are no automatic usage top-up charges. Already saved translations stay in Shopify. A plan’s allowance does not override service safeguards, and priority processing is not a translation-speed guarantee.

If you already have an Evenly plan

Your existing approved subscription and any remaining agreed trial continue under their original terms. Existing Unlimited and Brand Voice contracts retain their configured allowance per UTC calendar month, with 2,000 units as the standard setting, separately from Shopify’s 30-day billing cycle. These existing contracts are distinct from the new plans on the pricing page.

Your dashboard shows the allowance configured for your shop, including an existing custom limit. Service spending safeguards can pause processing before that allowance is exhausted. Contact us if you need to check your existing terms or limit before changing plan.

Your translations remain yours

Ending a subscription pauses new AI work. Saved translations remain in Shopify, and you can continue reviewing and manually editing them while Evenly is installed.

Translations in a published language can appear on your storefront as soon as they are saved. Review is not a separate draft approval stage.
